Wear red to help fight racism on 16 October

Wear Red Day, now in its sixth year, is a national day of action which encourages schools, businesses and individuals to wear red and donate £1 to help fund anti-racism education for young people and adults across the UK.

Every penny raised during Wear Red Day enables our education and campaign workers to work with more young people and adults across the UK to challenge racism in society.

Chair of Council Alex MacKenzie says:

The CSP is keen to support SRtRC again this year as the organisation works hard around education on racism both in schools, but also in sport, where many of our members work or volunteer.

The need for tackling racism is just as important now as when the organisation set up and education is a key strand to eliminating racism in this country.

I urge members to get involved, wear red for the day, pay £1 (or more) to SRtRC and raise awareness with family, friends and colleagues that racism is still an issue that will take all of us, understanding more and taking action to eradicate from our society.
 

Council will be meeting virtually to support Wear Red Day and will discuss what more the CSP can do to support the fight against racism.
