The CSP is reminding members that, due to the Covid-19 crisis, the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) has suspended all CPD audits for physiotherapists until further notice.
The HCPC made the decision as part of a number of announced changes to their normal service, which are intended to ‘provide flexibility and support to our registrants who will be working in ever more demanding circumstances’.
In a statement, published last week, the regulatory body said: ‘In the current circumstances, our Council has taken the decision to cancel the audit process for physiotherapists and art therapists.
We have since sent out a written confirmation of this to those selected for CPD.
Uncertain times
The organisation said they recognised that these were ‘exceptional and uncertain times for everyone’ and stated they would continue to review the situation and would communicate with registrants once CPD audits were due to resume.
Although CPD audits for physiotherapists have been cancelled, the HCPC added that: ‘Individuals should comply with their CPD obligations, where time allows and if it is possible to do so.’
